Chedorlaomer Rebels Against Sodom
When Lot separated himself from Abram, it would seem that he had separated himself from God's provision and protection as well. For he would soon find himself in a situation that involved nine different kings that decided to war against each other. For twelve years the kings that served under the government of Chedorlaomer, we find that in their thirteenth year the four kings decided to rebel against the king of Sodom. Those four kings were the kings of Shinar (Chaldea) and Elam (Persia) along with the kings of Ellasar and Goiim.

They started their attacks against the Rephaites (fierce warriors in the Canaan lands) in Ashteroth Karnaim and the Zuzites in Ham, defeating both of them. Then they went against the Emites (tall and big giant like warriors in the Canaan lands) in Shaveh Kiriathaim along with the Horites in the hill country of Seir - defeating both of them as well. Then they return to Kadesh and defeated the entire country side of the Amalekites along with the Amorites that dewelt in Hazezon Tamar.

Now in the meantime the kings of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, Zeboiim and the king of Zoar went out to try to crush the rebellion that was led by Chedorlaomer. They would meet them at "The Vale of Siddim," which was full of slim and tar pits. The king of Sodom and his allies thought that this place would be a great strategy move that would bring them an advantage against Chedorlaomer and his rebels. But they would be wrong in their assessment for Chedorlaomer and his rebel allies would prove to be too powerful for them to be stopped. The kings of Sodom and Gomorrah was defeated at "The Vale of Siddim," while the kings of Admah, Zeboiim and Zoar all fled to the nearby mountains.

Afterwards Chedorlaomer and his rebel allies would lay waste to the land that they had just conquered and enrich themselves with its spoils. Now amongst their spoils we would find that they had also taken Abram's nephew Lot and all that he had as they left the land. But from out of the mist of war and defeat one would escape and make to the land were Abram dwelt and told him that his nephew Lot had been taken by Chedorlaomer and his rebel allies. It is here where we find out a little bit more about how great a man Abram was, for after he had received the horrible news he had instructed his men to get ready for war. But would his three hundred and eighteen men be enough to go against Chedorlaomer and his rebel allies?
