Means: (Destruction / Ruin) - He is known as the "Angel of Destruction" who rules the "bottomless pit." This angel is known to rule the infernal regions; and wreak havoc on the earth.

Means: (God-given) - He was one of seven eunuchs, or chamberlains that served in the court of the Persian king Ahasuerus.

Means: (servant of Jehovah) - He was the father of Adoniram and served as a superintendent of forced labor under king Solomon.

Means: (servant of God) - He was the father of Shelemiah and served as an officer under king Jehoiakim. He was the officer that Jehoiakim ordered to arrest prophet Jeremiah and the scribe known as Baruch.

Means: (servant of Jehovah) - He was the father of Kishi, a Merarite Levite who was also the grandfather Ethan. Ethan served King David as a singer in his court.

Means: (servant of God) - He was a Gadite, the son of Guni and father of Ahi.

Means: (subservient) - He was the son of Hillel, from Pirathon. He had forty sons and thirty grandsons who rode on seventy donkeys. He served as judge over Israel for eight years.

Means: (son) - He was the second born son to Adam and Eve. His older brother Cain was jealous because of the favor that Abel had with God. Thinking that he could never compete with his younger brother, Cain became enraged and decided that it would be better to kill his brother instead. Since Abel was killed for what he believed and followed this made him the worlds first recorded martyr. As for Cain... he would become the world's first recorded murderer.

Means: (my father) - She was the wife of Ahaz and the mother of king Hezekiah and the daughter of Zechariah.

Means: (my father is Lord) - He is also known as "Abijah." He is also mentioned as the chief of the twenty-four courses of priest.

Means: (my father has gathered) - He was the youngest of three sons that was born to Korah.

Means: (father of excellence) - He was the son of Ahimelech the high priest, who would eventually become a high priest himself: making him the tenth high priest of Israel. He would sometime later, meet up with David before he had become the official King of Israel; and become the priest of his company. After David was made King of Israel, Abiathar would be promoted to high priest.

Means: (my father knows) - He was the son of Midian the son of Abraham, and perhaps the chief of an Arabian tribe. By him being the son of Midian, it also made him the grandson of Abraham and his wife Keturah.

Means: (God is my Father) - He was the grandfather of King Saul, and the father of Ner; and the son of Zeror.

Means: (my father is help) - He was the head of one of the Manasseh households that had settled west of the Jordan. He was also the first born son of Gilead and the grandson of Machir.

Means: (mother of joy) - She was the wife of a wealthy man name Nabal the Calebite. She was a very intelligent and beautiful woman and her husband was surly and mean. He had insulted David the General (He was not yet King of Israel) when David had sent word that he wanted some type of favor from Nabal, being that he was kind to Nabal's shepherds while they were out in the field.

Now after being insulted by this man, David was planning on killing Nabal and every man that was in his camp. But Abigail went out to meet David with a load of food supplies that she was giving to him for his kindness to her husband shepherds.

David was impress and pleased with Abigail, so therefore he decided not to shed any blood within Nabal's camp. About ten days later the Lord struck Nabal dead; and when David heard this he sent for Abigail asking her to be his wife, and she agreed.

Means: (my father is might) - He was Levi's youngest son and father to, Zuriel. He was a Levite that was over the house of Merari; during the time, the Israelites dwelled in the wilderness in the days of Moses.

Means: (he is my father) - He was Aaron's second born son, who would be eventually consecrated to the priesthood. He had the honor of accompanying his father, and his brother Nadab; and the seventy elders, as they traveled along with Moses up the mount. They would not go all the way up the mount with Moses, but part of the way.

Unfortunately, Abihu and his older brother Nadab, would suffer an unusual death; after they were struck dead, after they had offered up "a strange fire" to the Lord - for it wasn't the fire that came from the brazen altar, as the Lord had instructed.

Means: (my father is majesty) - He was the grandson of Benjamin and the son of Bela. He is also known by the name "Ahihud."

Means: (my father is Jehovah) - He was the son of the first Israel king Jeroboam. He was found to be quite ill, and the king had sent his wife to go see the prophet about him. The name of this prophet was Ahijah. Jeroboam wife had disguised herself, when she went to see the prophet, but God had already told Ahijah about her. God told Ahijah to tell her that her son Abijah, would be the only one who would die a peaceful death from within the Jeroboam's household. And when Jeroboam's wife returned home, and as she walked through the door, her son Abijah passed away peacefully -- just like the prophet had foretold.

Means: (my father of the sea) - He was the son of the Judean king Rehoboam. Abijam would eventually succeed his father, in which he would reign for three years. During his short reign, he waged war against the Northern Kingdom (the ten tribes) with four-hundred thousand men. Jeroboam sent eight-thousand of his own men to confront Abijam. And even though he was out numbered two-to-one, Abijam would win this battle, for the Lord aided him. God would strike down five-hundred thousand of Jeroboam's men, and because of this, the Israelites retreated and on that day, the Lord handed Abijam and his men victory against the Northern Kingdom.

Means: (my father is God) - He was the son of Joktan. And out of Joktan's thirteen sons that were born to him, Abimael was born ninth. Joktan was a desendant of Shem, and the son of Eber.

Means: (my brother is king) - He was a Philistine king of Gerar that reigned during the days of Abraham. He had taken Abraham's wife Sarah from him, after the patriarch lied and told him that Sarah was his sister. After Abimelech had done this, the Lord appeared to him in a dream, and told him, that he was as good as dead, if he didn't return Sarah back to her husband. Abimelech would do as he was told, and because of his obedience to the one true God, his life and household was spared.

Means: (My father is willing) - He was a Levite and the father of Eleazar. Abinadab house was chosen by the people of Kiriath-jearim, in which they placed the ark of the Lord within his house. The ark of the Lord would be held there for some twenty years. The people of Kiriath-jearim placed Eleazer, in charge of guarding the ark of the Lord, during the days of the prophet Samuel.

Means: (my father is delight) - He was the father of Barak the general who served under Deborah the prophetess and judge of Israel. He came from Kedesh-naphtali, which is known to be one of the fortified cities that belonged to the tribe of Naphtali.

Means: (belonging to a fountain) - He was the son of Eliab a Reubenite chief. He would eventually join the rebellion that was taking place against Moses and his brother Aaron, during Israel's wilderness days.

Means: (my father is a wanderer) - She was a young and beautiful and vigorous Shunammite woman, who served as David's nurse and personal attendant. She was present at Solomon's appointment to succeed his father David. Adonijah was looking to marry the young woman, but Solomon had him put to death, for he thought that Adonijah was plotting against his kingdom.

Means: (father of gift) - He served under King David as a brave and loyal soldier.

Means: (father of light) - He was the son of Ner, and a related cousin to king Saul. He was also a commander in Saul's army. He would later be killed by Joab the commander of David's army.

Means: (the father of a multitude / father is exalted) - Formally known as Abram, this prophet was trusted by God to become the founder and representative of the Hebrew race. He was father to Isaac and Ishmael and grandfather to Jacob and Esau.

He also received the Abrahamic Covenant which would be the foundation for all future covenants that came after it. (The Davidic Covenant - The New Covenant - The Blood Covenant)

Means: (A High Father) - Was called out of the city of Ur, which lead him on his path to later becoming Abraham. This was done through God's blessing that was bestowed on the descendants of Shem... and through the dedication and faith that Abram had develop towards the Most High God.

He also received the Abrahamic Covenant which would be the foundation for all future covenants that came after it. (The Davidic Covenant - The New Covenant - The Blood Covenant)

Means: (my father is peace) - He was the very handsome son of King David. He kills his brother Amnon after Amnon rapes their sister Tamar. Absalom also decides to go against his own father King David, so he can become the new king.

Means: (troublemaker) - He was the Israelite who sin kept the Joshua lead army from defeating the men of Ai. Because of his sin, God would no longer fight along side the Israelites until they had consecrate (to cleanse and make holy) themselves.

Means: (the king gave) - Was a Philistine King who also went by the name Abimelech. He was the king that David took refuge while the Israel king Saul was seeking to kill him. David was able to do this by pretending that he was insane.

Means: (man) - Was the first human God created and husband of Eve. He was also the first recorded human to sin. Because of his sin he along with Eve was banished from the Garden of Eden, and caused the fall of humanity.

Means: (my Lord is God) - He was the son of David and Haggith. He tried to steal his younger brother throne by requesting permission to marry Abishag the Shunammite. His younger brother king Solomon would later have him executed behind this plot to steal the throne.

Means: (Lord of righteousness) - He was the Jerusalem king who formed an alliance with four Canaanite kings, so that he could attack Joshua and the Israelites at the city of Gibeon.

Means: (the Lord's brother) He was the prophet God used to tell Jeroboam that the Lord was about to rip the kingdom from out of king Solomon's hands. God said through Ahijah; that Jeroboam would get ten out of the twelve tribes, but God will leave king Solomon with one.

Means: (father's brother) - He was the Israel king that was married to a woman named Jezebel in the days if Elijah. God used the prophet Elijah to reprove the king of his evil and sinful life.

Means: (mighty) - He was a Persian king that was also known as The Mighty Xerxes. He later married Mordecai's cousin Esther.

Means: (he grasped) - He was the son of king Jotham who later became his successor to the throne of Judah. He was twenty years old when he became king in which he reigned for sixteen years.

Means: (God sustains) - Was the name of two kings? One who ruled the kingdom of Judah in which he was succeeded by Athaliah. The second king ruled the kingdom of Israel in which he was succeeded by Jehoram.

Means: (the king is my brother) - He was God's high priest of Nob, in which became friends with King David

Means: (God is my brother) - He was one of King David's advisers who would later conspire against the King, by joining the rebellion that was lead by David's son Absalom.

Means: (trustworthy) - He was King David's eldest son who raped his sister Tamar. He would later be killed by his younger sibling Absalom because of his attack on their sister.

Means: (burden) - A herdsman that was called to be a prophet and he also wrote the "Book Of Amos." Amos was very unpopular in Israel, because he was prophesying about their destruction during the peak of great success they were having at the time. He stood against their false religions, and the mistreatment of the poor.

Means: (long-necked) - He was the founder of the race that were considered giants that frighten the scouts of Moses as they surveyed the land for a possible attack. The names of these tribes were - Ahiman, Sheshai and Talmai.

Means: (answer) - She was one of three Phoenician and Canaanite goddess that was worshiped within the Canaanite pantheon (temple). The other two were Asherah and Astarte.

Means: (luminous) - Also known as "Diana the Greek goddess of fertility" that was worshiped at Ephesus, in which a great temple was built in her honor. This temple would sometime later be burned down by an historic arsonist who was looking to get famous, and he went by the name "Herostratus."

Means: (created) - He was the first king of Judah that was God fearing. He reigned for forty-one years. He lead Judah in revival and was known as a great builder. He later died from a foot disease, that he would not take to God, so He could heal him.

Means: (gladness) - Was one of the tribal founders to the twelve tribes of Israel. He was the son of Jacob and Zilpah (Leah's handmaiden). He would be Zilpah's second and Jacob's eight.

Means: (grove) - Was a goddess of fertility that the Canaanites served. She was also seen as the wife of "Baal the storm god." The Canaanites would worship her at shrines that were located within, or near the groves of evergreen trees, or at places that were marked by, what was known as "The Wooden Asherah Poles." She was also one of the three goddess of the Canaanite pantheon (temple) that was worshiped right along with Astarte and Anath.

Means: (star) - She was one of three Phoenician and Canaanite goddess that was worshipped within the Canaanite pantheon (temple). The other two were Asherah and Anath.

Means: (God is exalted) - She was the wicked daughter of king Ahab and Queen Jezebel who would later become the Queen of Judah along with her husband Jehoram.

Means: (whom God aids) - He was the high priest that rebuked king Uzziah along with eighty other priest, when Uzziah tried to burn the incense in the temple.

Uzziah could not do this, for it was the responsibility of the priest. Uzziah got very angry in the temple and started raging at them. Then leprosy broke out on Uzziah forehead, and he had this disease until the day he died.

Means: (lord) - The Phoenician and Canaanitish nations believed that this false idol was a supreme male divinity, just like they believed that the false idol Ashtoreth, was their supreme female divinity.

Means: (covenant lord) - This was the false idol god that the Israelites to after Gideon died, for they began to prostitute themselves to the Baals.

Means: (lord of grace) - He was the son of Achbor and became the seventh reigning king of Edom after Shaul died.

Means: (lord of the banner: causing one to rejoice) - He was an Ammonitish king during the days of Nebuchadnezzar the powerful Babylonian king. Nebuchadnezzar had destroyed Jerusalem and placed Judah in captivity. Baalis was the one who gave the orders for Ishmael the son of Nethaniah to go and murder Gedaliah the son of Ahikam.

Means: (lord of the flies) - The Philistines believed that this false idol god, had the power to turn away the plague of flies. This was the false idol god, that the Israel king Ahaziah the son of Ahab, had turned to after he had fallen through the lattice of his palace. This was during the days of the prophet Elijah, in which the man of God; told Ahaziah's messengers, that he would not recover and that he would die in his bed.

Means: (son of affliction) - He was king Solomon's high ranking officer in the town called Jezreel, and the son of Ahilud. Solomon placed Baana in charge of Taanach and Megiddo, as well as all of Beth Shan next to Zarethan below Jezreel, from Beth Shan to Abel Meholah and on past Jokmeam.

Means: (in affliction) - He was the son of Rimmon the Beerothite, from the tribe of Benjamine. He and his brother were two captains who served in Ish-bosheth's army. Ish-bosheth was the youngest of four boys who was born unto king Saul, the first Israel king. After Saul and his three sons fell at the battle of Gilboa, Ish-bosheth became the only surviving son of Saul, who would reign as Israel king for seven years, while David reigned of the kingdom of Judah. Baanah along with his brother Rechab, went and kill Ish-bosheth and took his head and presented to David. Means: (brutish) - She was one of the wives of Shaharaim the Benjamite.

He was also the pagan prophet who had a donkey in which the Lord had opened its mouth after he had beaten it three times. Balaam did not know that the donkey had saved him from being slain by an angel that was waiting for him in the middle of the road.

Means: (spoiler) - He was the son of Zippor who would eventually become the king of the Moabites.

Means: (built) - He was from the tribe of the Gadites. He was also served as one of David's elite thirty-seven warriors.

Means: (the son of a master) - He was the prisoner whom the Jews begged and pleaded with Pilate to release, when the choice was between him and Jesus Christ.

Means: (God Blesses) - He was a Buzite and one of Job's closest friends and the father of Elihu.

Means: (lightning) - He was a Hebrew commander that raised an army of 10,000. That helped Deborah (The Judge of Israel) to be victorious in war against the Canaanites.

Means: (son of Joshua) - He was a false prophet, or sorcerer that was found by Paul and Silas at Paphos, which was a maritime city that was located on the western part of Cyprus. He was also known as Elymas.

Means: (the son of prophecy) - He was a Levite who would play a large important part in the early ministry of the apostle Paul.

Means: (iron-maker) - He was the Gileadite citizen who was in his advance years, who befriended King David during Absalom's rebellion

Means: (daughter of the oath) - She was the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah. King David's took her as his wife after he had her husband Uriah killed. She later gave birth to King David son - king Solomon. King David's family was cursed by God because of his actions and relationship with Bathsheba.

Means: (Bel protect the king) - He was the Babylonian king, in which God had written a judgment prophecy on the palace walls while the king was getting drunk with his wives and concubines. The king called in the enchanters, astrologers, and diviner... but no one could interpret the writing on the wall except for the prophet Daniel.

Means: (the Lord has built) - He served as one of King David's fearless soldiers.

Means: (son of my right hand) - Was one of the tribal founders to the twelve tribes of Israel. He was the son of Jacob and Rachel. He was the second born unto Rachel, but the twelfth born unto Jacob. He was Joseph's favorite little brother.

Means: (son of evil) - He was the Sodom king who was defeated by Chedorlaomer in the Valley of Siddim. It would take the prophet Abraham to rescue the king and his allies from the ruthless rebellion of Chedorlaomer.

Means: (in the Lord's shadow) - Was given the position of being the chief designer of the tabernacle.

Means: (strength) - He was the husband of Ruth. Also if the genealogies are correct he would also be King David's great-grandfather.

Means: (severed) - This is the surname that's given to Roman emperors that reigned after Julius Caesar. As for this name and its connection to the Sacred Scriptures, we find it in reference to Augustus, Nero, Claudius and Tiberius.

Means: (beautiful) - He was the high priest that belong to the sect of the Sadducees. He also served as high priest during the days of Jesus Christ's earthly ministry, which was during the reign of Tiberius. He married the daughter of a former high priest, who went by the name Annas. He was present and weighed in against Jesus, while the council decided if Jesus should be put to death.

Means: (spear) - He was the first born son of Adam and Eve. Cain was very skillful when it came to husbandry. He would become jealous and envious, when it came to the favor that his brother had earned through his obedience with the Almighty. Because of his ill feelings towards Abel, Cain rose up and killed his brother. Because of his vindictive and wicked actions, God confronted him, in which, Cain became defiant more so, and because of this, God marked him on his head and banished him from the land.

Means: (possession) - He was the first born son unto Enos. He lived to be nine-hundred and ten, and was the father of Mahalaleel who was fourth in descent from Adam in the line of Seth.

Means: (nourishing) - He was the son of Zerah, who was head of the family of the Zarhites. Calcol was one of four sages that Solomon was compared to, in which the king had excelled in wisdom - Being that Solomon was the wisest of all men.

Means: (dog) - He was the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite. Caleb was one of the twelve scout spies that were sent by Moses to survey the Canaan lands. He along with Joshua, were the only two out of the generation who had entered the wilderness, to make it over into the promise land. Actually, it was Joshua and Caleb who led the next Israel generation.

Means: (purple) - He was the fourth born unto Ham the son of Noah, who became the founder of the Canaanites. Because of his actions against his grandfather Noah, a curse would be brought against him and his descendants.Canaan would eventually have eleven sons, his oldest son Zidon, would become the founder of the Sidonians and Phoenicians.

Means: (prince of servants) - Candance is a surname that was used for a family dynasty, for reigning Ethiopian queens. Philip the evangelist helped to convert one of their chamberlain's to Christianity.

Means: (severe) - He was the seventh of the seven chamberlains that served under the Persian King Ahasuerus.

Means: (my vineyard) - He was the fourth son that was born unto Reuben the oldest son of Jacob. He was present with Jacob when the Israelites entered Egypt to escape the deadly seven year famine that was wreaking havoc upon the Canaan lands.

Being that after apostle Paul was imprisoned for the second time, he told Timothy to bring his cloak, along with his books and parchments that he had left with Carpus, in the town in northwest Asia Minor, called "Troas."

Means: (illustrious) - He was one of the seven princes and media that served under king Ahasuerus. -- "...those closest to him being Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan, the seven princes of Persia and Media, who had access to the king's presence, and who ranked highest in the kingdom." (Esther 1:14)

Means: (handful of sheaves) - He was the king of Elam who waged war with Sodom back in the days of Abraham. -- "And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations, that they made war with Bera king of Sodom, Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar)." Means: (subduer) - This was a false god that the Moabites and Ammonites had served. Mesha the king of Moab gave credit for his victories to this false god.

Means: (trader) - He was the father of Zedekiah the false prophet who served under king Ahab. -- Zedekiah was the one who walked up to the prophet Micaiah and struck him in the face, for his negative prophecy that he had given to the king:

"Now Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, "Which way did the spirit from the Lord go from me to speak to you?" And Micaiah said, "Indeed, you shall see on that day when you go into an inner chamber to hide!" (1 Kings 22:24-25)

Means: (son) - He was the king of Persia who reign from 538 B.C. to 530 B.C. Also he was able to conquer Babylon in 539 B.C.

Means: (little fish) - This was the name of the false fish-god that the Philistines worshiped. This false idol had the head and hands of a man, and the rest of the body took on the image of a fish. Temples were built mainly in the cities of Gaza and Ashod.

Means: (dripping) - He was one of ten sons that was born unto Mordecai's enemy back in the days of Esther -- Haman the vizier, who served under the Persian king Xerxes.

Means: (heifer) - She was an Athenian woman who was converted to Christianity by Paul the apostle: "However, some men joined him and believed, among them Dionysius the Areopagite, a woman named Damaris, and others with them." (Acts 17:34)

Means: (judge) - Was one of the tribal founders to the twelve tribes of Israel. He was the son of Jacob and Bilhah (Rachel's handmaiden). He would be Bilhah's first and Jacob's fifth.

Means: (God is my judge) - He was a great prophet that served in the Babylon kingdom during Israel's captivity. He was taken captive during Nebuchadnezzar's first siege against the Holy City Jerusalem. He was of noble birth that came from the tribe of Judah. He ascended to the third most powerful position from within the Babylonian kingdom. He was also the author of the prophetic Book of Daniel

Means: (pearl of knowledge) - He was a great wise man or sage that was known for his gift of wisdom, but eventually he would be surpassed, when it came to this gift of wisdom, by David's son -- king Solomon.

Means: (he who upholds the good) - He was a governor of Persia during Daniels ministry.

Means: (Hero) - While king Saul was still in power, he was anointed to be king by the prophet Samuel. He had once killed a bear and a lion and would later kill the Philistines greatest champion, Goliath. He would become a great and celebrated war commander within Saul's army. He would later succeed Saul as the new Israel King, in which he was the greatest King in their history. David is the only King in the Bible to be called and recognized as King by the one true God.

Means: (bee) - Before there were kings there were judges which she was. She was also known as a prophetess who helped Barak defeat the Canaanites.

Note: There were only two people out of who held the position of a judge that were also called prophets. She was one and Samuel was the other.

Means: (fearful) - He was an Edomite that was king Saul's chief herdsman. He was present when David had met with Ahimelech the high priest of Nob. He would later through the orders of king Saul, strike down eighty-five temple priest of Nob that represent the one true God.
