MacDonald Hamba's Bible Devotions
~~~~~~~~~~~
"Trust in yourself and you are doomed to disappointment. Trust in your friends and they will die and leave you. Trust in money and you may have it taken away from you. Trust in reputation and some slanderous tongues will blast it. But trust in God and you never to be confounded in time or in eternity."
Dwight Moody
God's Perfect Timing
Philippians 4:6,7 states: "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
I must admit, when it comes to Gods timing, there's no doubting it, it's always perfect. This is one of the many reasons why we must never become impatient, when it comes to God's plans for our lives. But while we're waiting for God, understand, the more your life is committed to Him, the clearer the perfection of His timing will become to you. Never make the mistake of falling in a state of impatience, for if you do, in your haste, you might try to replace God's perfect plan, with your own inferior one.
I mean, do you honestly think that your plan is better than His?
Do you really think, you can force God to comply with your own time table over His?
Understand that your vision is severely limited, when compared with God's.
For you see, not only are we able to see our problems, with an ability that's very limited, but we're only able to use that limited ability from within the dimness, and the dark shadows of a very limited time frame. But when it comes to God, in regards to us, not only does He knows the plan that He has for us, but He's able to see that very same plan, all throughout the brightness of infinity.
I mean after all, it's His plan... right? Never forget that God is perfect and wise, and He's beyond all understanding. Make no mistake, the Lord knows what is best for you, and He also knows the right time, when it comes to allowing you to reap a good harvest. You know, that very same harvest, you've been sowing through your dedication and commitment to the Lord.
BIBLE DEVOTIONS
It's Not Easy
Yeah I know, it's not always easy, to be discipline enough, when it
comes to waiting God's timing to come into play. Often times we can
become so impatient, and even bold enough, that we'll rush into His holy
presence to seek an immediate explanation, for what's been taking so
long, when it comes to seeing a breakthrough, when it comes to our
troubles. And on top of that, we are finding ourselves constantly
urging, and perhaps demanding, immediate action from the Lord. Yeah good
luck with that...
And actually, one might wonder, as they begin
to ask themselves: "Can't God see that everything is about to crash and
burn, when it comes to my life? Why doesn't He do something?" Keep in
mind, it's moments like these, that can cause you to fall into the
temptation trap, of trying to act, from within your own strength,
instead of God's. It's moment like these, that could cause one, to begin
using their own understanding of the situation... which is an
understanding, that's limited, and sees nothing but failure, and sorrow,
from within one's immediate future.
BIBLE DEVOTIONS
Trust God... Let Him Take Control
I'll tell you this, for a child of God to be able to synchronize some
type of timing with that of God's, is a lesson, each one of us should be
seeking to learn. Personally, I believe that this is only possible, if
you remain in close contact with God, as you learn how to develop a
living relationship with Him, through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
If His will becomes your will, in regards to your life; and if
you allow His Spirit to guide you, in all that you do, you'll begin to
see, a perfect blueprint, when it comes to God's plan for your life, as
you find it unfolding before your very eyes. And I also believe, it will
be at this time from within your life, when it comes to God and your
purpose, you'll also begin to find patience, trust, peace of mind and
zeal for the Lord, from within your heart. Ah, there's nothing like
having passion, and determination, for the things you want to do in your
life. But let's do it with God, and not by ourselves -- Amen?
My
brothers and sisters let's pray this prayer for God's will in our
lives: "Eternal Father, I'm so grateful that You've remained the same
yesterday, today and forevermore. Help us to be patient, so that we
don't try to rush your timing, when it comes to our desires and
understanding. When it comes to my day to day, I prayerfully bow, to
Your perfect will. In Jesus' name... I pray, amen"
I trust the Lord that you've been blessed today by His Word, and this Bible devotion.
