Short Recap?
In the last article we learnt that Rebekah's family had given Eliezer permission to take their sister back with him, in order for her to become Isaac's wife. After the chief servant had received the good news, Eliezer would bow down to once again give thanks unto the Lord. When he was done giving thanks, he would then present Rebekah with costly jewels that were crafted from the precious metals of gold and sliver. It's at this time, that Eliezer would also give Rebekah fine articles of clothing, and present her family with expensive gifts as well. Next, we find that Eliezer and his men had now decided to replenish their bodies by eating and drinking the food that Rebekah's family had brought out to them. After Eliezer and his men finished eating and drinking they decided to rest for the night.

As the night had passed and morning had come, Eliezer had awakened and was anxious to head back to his master Abraham so he could tell him about the success of his mission and present Isaac with his new wife. Not wanting to just get up and leave without notice, he decides to ask Rebekah's family if it was okay for him to head back: "Send me back on my way to my master," Eliezer had asked them. But the thought of having Rebekah leave so suddenly; and perhaps, knowing that this could very well be the last time they would see of her -- they suggested this to Eliezer: "Let Rebekah remain with us for ten months or so; then you may go." But the chief servant would insist that he was ready to head back immediately: "Do not detain me, now that the Lord has granted success to my journey. Send me on my way so I may go back to my master?"

"Will you go with this man?" they asked her. "I will go," Rebekah would tell them. So in respect to her decision they sent Rebekah and her nurse attendants on their way. Perhaps familiar with the, "Abrahamic Covenant" that Eliezer might have shared with them, they send Rebekah off with a blessing: "Our sister, may you increase to thousands upon thousands; may your offspring possess the gates of their enemies," they told her as she and her nurse attendants mounted their camels and headed out with Eliezer.
