Christian Beliefs

I believe that Jesus Christ, is my Saviour and Redeemer; and that he brought me back -- from the brink of eternal damnation.

The Bible clearly points this out, which makes it one of the many reasons; why I stand with Jesus Christ, and his teachings -- no matter what.

I say "no matter what" -- because it doesn't matter, if I don't quite understand everything; or I may be a little confused at times -- when it comes to the mysteries of the unknown.

And with that said, I say -- thank you God; for the Sacred Scriptures! This is why, I try to explore them daily; for they have taught me, how to take away the limits -- that the world, tries so hard, to place on me. For the Bible, has taught me to look beyond; what I can see naturally, and now -- I'm learning how to grasp things more spiritually.

"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:18)

For I understand, that when the natural passes; the spirit world will still exist. So why not invest in the thing, that will pay me dividends for the longest stretch? Why would I invest in something temporal, and not eternal? Why not invest in God? I'll tell you this, I rather stand with my Heavenly Father; instead of going -- against Him.

What about it? Now, I'm not going to type something crazy; like science is useless, and that its findings are wrong -- when it comes to the inner workings of God's creation. I'm not going to type that, because that would be absurd on my part. But I do believe, that science is a tool of application; that God has given humanity. It's because of this tool, we are able to: examine, learn, and extract from what God has created.

Science can not, and has not; been able to provide the answers to why we exist. When it comes to this area, scientist are good at saying: "We are looking for that missing link, and we feel that we are close to finding it." Oh, really?

The people who are trying to give full credit to science, for the creation of all things; would be considered very limited minded people in my book. They don't understand, that science limits them; to what can be answered naturally, things that are temporal and finite.

Science does not, and cannot; provide answers for the spiritual world which is limitless and infinite. The only tool that can come close to providing these type of answers -- would be the Bible.

Sir Isaac Newton: "We account the Scriptures of God to be the most sublime philosophy. I find more sure marks of authenticity in the Bible than in any profane history whatsoever."

Sir John Herschel: "All human discoveries seem to be made only for the purpose of confirming more and more strongly that the truths come from on high which are contained in the sacred writings..."

James Dwight Dana: "Young men, as you go forth, remember that I, an old man, who has known only science all his life, say unto you that there are no truer facts than the facts found within the Holy Scriptures."

Michael Faraday: "Why will people go astray when they have this blessed Book to guide them?"

I could say, that the main reason my Christian beliefs are the way they are; is because I know, or I feel; that I'm right, because Jesus Christ -- rest deep within my heart and mind. He died on the cross, and washed away my sins; He redeemed me, and rescue me -- from an eternal death.

Although these are common reasons with most Christian believers, it still wouldn't be enough proof for the naysayers in the 21st Century? It should be, but unfortunately -- it's not. I could also say, that I stand by Christianity; because it has more followers, when compared to the current world religions? But unfortunately, this would not be true -- in the 21st century.

The truth is, Christianity would be a distinct minority; when compared to the different types of world religions -- that we currently have going on. The Muslims would quickly point this out to you, and without hesitation -- being that they have the fastest growing religion in the world.

Or maybe I could say, that I stand by Christianity; because it's the oldest when compared to the current world religions? Well, yeah -- this could be debated? But the Confucian, could put up an argument; that Confucius revealed his teachings -- centuries before Jesus was even born.

But Confucius teachings are very limited, being that they didn't deal with; having a direct relationship with the Master Creator. Also, the Chinese philosopher spiritual insight; was limited when it came to knowing -- that God had made the human-race in His own likeness and image.

But I'll let him off the hook, when it comes to the topics that deal with: redemption, and eternal salvation -- since he came before Jesus Christ. He gets a pass from my rants, because he would not know about these things; unless the true Messiah (Jesus Christ) had revealed them to him?

I have unwavering confidence, that I'm standing on a solid foundation -- when it comes to Christianity? That foundation would be the Book, that my Heavenly Father has left me. Within this Book, you will find the greatest love letter -- that has ever been written to mankind. The Book that I'm writing about, is the Holy Bible.

Why the Bible? Well for one, the Bible is unlike any other book; that reveals the hidden treasures of the spiritual world, and provides infinite insight and wisdom -- that we can put in practice right now. Also, there hasn't been any other book; that has had such a universal impact, on the world -- like the Bible.

The Bible is a Book, that wasn't written by one man; or a group of men that came together. But it was written, within different lands; that spanned over a time period of 1500 - 1600 years. The Bible contains sixty-six separate volumes, which took about -- forty different spiritual led authors to write.

The Bible, was written in three different languages; that deals with various topics -- that were addressed, under very different situations. And yet, it still has a complete unity that deals with: divinity, mystery, morals, poetry, drama, science, prophesy, and history -- that is unmatched, by any other book.

It was the first Book that was put in print, and this happen around (1450 A.D.). The Old Testament, was started more than 3000 years ago. The New Testament, a little more than 2000 years ago, and is still -- the most popular book, in today's modern times.

The Bible, has been translated into over a thousand different types of languages and dialects; and has transcended all national, and international boundaries. All class of people are inspired by the Bible, and it doesn't matter: if they're rich, poor, wise, simple, old or young.

Regardless of what people say, the Western Civilization was founded on the Bible; and it's teachings. Our calendar, and most of its holidays -- came from the Bible. Which explains why great masterpieces, and movements have been motivated; and produced behind the Bible.

There have been artists like: Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, Michelangelo and others. There have been authors like: John Milton, John Bunyan, Shakespeare, Coleridge, Longfellow, Hawthorne, and many others. There have also been musicians like: George Frederic Handel, Johann Sebastian Bach, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Beethoven and many others.

Great structures have been built like: the St. Peter's Cathedral, Lincoln Cathedral, Rouen Cathedral, St. Mary's Church, and the Ulm Cathedral to name a few. Movements in history like: Missions, Social Reform, Education, English Common Law, Bill of Rights, United States Constitution, and The Reformation have also taken place behind the Bible.

The only Boo,k that has been able; to make unlikely predictions when it comes to prophecy, and then turns around; and records the fulfillment of them. The Bible has been 100 percent accurate, when it comes to the prophecies; that have been recorded within its -- invaluable passages.

There are thirty-seven Old Testament prophecies that talks about the Messiah in great detail, that deals with: his birth, ministry, death, and resurrection while on earth. These prophecies were spoken 600 - 700 years before Jesus was born.

All thirty-seven prophecies which talked about his: birth, ministry, death and resurrection were eventually fulfilled by Jesus Christ. Also: Josiah, Cyrus, Alexander the Great, John the Baptist, and Antiochus Epiphanes -- along with many others, all fulfilled prophecies that were foretold on them in the Bible as well.

You also have had prophecies foretold on nations like: Israel, Edom, Babylon, Media-Persia, Greece, Rome, Egypt, and Russia. All of these prophecies that were foretold on them in the Bible -- were fulfilled.

You have also, had prophecies foretold on popular cities like: Tyre, Jericho, Nineveh, and Jerusalem. All of these prophecies that were foretold on them in the Bible came to pass.

Countless people, have tried to destroy this great Book, and continue to do so this very day. You have had great philosophers like: Voltaire, Thomas Paine, and even Joseph Stalin -- have tried, to destroy the Bible through their literature and misguided rhetoric.

You have had: Kings, Emperors, and even Priests, that have tried to destroy this great Book. But you know what, they have died and yet, the Bible still stands. People have given their lives, and continue to do so to this very day; because they refuse to deny, or give up Jesus -- as their Saviour.

There has not been any other book, that has been able to deliver such historical accuracy like the Bible. You have had great scholars, who after intense studying; and researching, became aggressive defenders -- of this great Book.

Sir William Ramsey: "I take the view that Luke's history is unsurpassed in regard to it's trustworthiness...you may press the words of Luke in a degree beyond any historian's and they stand the keenest scrutiny and the hardest treatment."

William F. Albright: "The reader may rest assured: nothing has been found to disturb a reasonable faith, and nothing has been discovered which can disprove a single theological doctrine...We no longer trouble ourselves with attempts to 'harmonize' religion and science, or to 'prove' the Bible. The Bible can stand for itself."

H.G. Wells: "The Bible has been the Book that held together the fabric of Western civilization. The civilization we possess could not come into existence and could not have been sustained without it."

Thomas Carlyle: "A Noble Book! All men's book!...grand in its sincerity, in its simplicity, and in its epic melody."
