God Keeping Promises

~~~
Quite simply, it all comes down to the Bible's track record on prophecy. Throughout time and humanity, the Bible has never been wrong when it comes to prophecy. Never has, never will be! It's this track record of fulfilled prophecies that proves the Bible is of divine authority. It's this track record of fulfilled prophecies that proves Jesus, is the true Messiah.
Now as we make our journey throughout the Sacred Scriptures, we must be careful that we don't adopt the wrong kind of agenda when it comes to the reading of God's Word. We must not give in to the notion of just reading the Bible, just for the sake of being able to say that we read it. But we must stay focus and watch for the things that make the Bible truly awesome, as we recognize the benefits that causes it to be set far beyond anything that our finite minds can come up with. I find it interesting that people say that the Bible is outdated, when in fact I hold true to the notion that it's quite the opposite; for the Bible has always been, and will forever be, beyond us.
Now I know that I told you that when going through the Sacred Scriptures, we should look for a way to track God's movements from within the natural.
And actually, if one were to really pay close attention to God's Word, one would be able to track the movement of God from throughout the history of humanity.
For I believe that if we're able to get some kind of track record, when it comes to how God reacted, and how He interacted with individuals from throughout humanity, we should be able to better identify how God might be moving, and reacting from within our own lives this very day.
And in all honesty, I must admit, it's very hard for people to be able to grasp this concept, for they have completely given themselves over to the ideal that God is simply invisible, and that He is too big for them to have any kind of comprehension, or personal relationship with. But what they don't understand, is that in fact, we're actually working under the same conditions that the prophets of old were working under; but what we have, was made better through the sacrifice of Christ, and the New Blood Covenant that was was made available to us.
For you see, the prophets of old were working under a promise covenant with God. And the same is true for us as well, but only if we choose to accept. The covenant that I'm referring to, is God's New Promise Covenant that was made possible through the death and resurrection of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. And by accepting Him as our Savior and Redeemer, we're able to enter into this New Blood Covenant. Know that the prophets were also working directly with the Spirit of the Lord. And so the same holds true for us, for we have access to the gift of the Holy Spirit, if we so choose to receive Him, and this is done by simply and whole-heartily accepting Jesus Christ into our hearts and minds.
God Word Never Expires
Also know, these great men and women of God, were operating under a promise agreement that was set forth by the Almighty. Now God, has always kept His promises, and thanks to the Sacred Scriptures, we have a record of those promises, since the very days of Adam. We must also understand that Word of God never expires, as some people insist on indicating. Nevertheless, I want to take this time to point out some great examples that we can turn to, when it comes to God keeping His promises:
The Noahic Covenant: This was God's Magna Charta to the new world, in which God promised to never destroy the world by water again. This was sealed with the sign of the rainbow.
The Abrahamic Covenant: This was God's promise to Abraham and the Israel nation that will eventually come from Abraham's seed.
The Mosaic Covenant: This was basically a conditional covenant that was centered around Israel obeying the Mosaic Law.
The Davidic Covenant: This is where God basically reminds David that He will keep the promise covenant that He made with David's forefathers. But it would also be from within this covenant that God reassures David that his throne will last and be established forever.
The New (Blood) Covenant: Now this is the New Covenant that God had foretold through the prophet Jeremiah. Jesus Christ, the promised Messiah came and fulfilled the law of Moses; but he didn't abolish the law. And it's for this reason that we should be wise to continue to adhere to the law. But also know this, we are all saved (whether Jew or Gentile) through the blood of Jesus Christ, if we so accept Him as our personal Savior and Redeemer.
For you see, we're all, if we so choose, sons and daughters of the Almighty:
"Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed. So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law. You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek [Gentile], slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." -- Galatians 3:23-29
During the Days of Adam
Now I find it interesting that God's promise covenants are labeled starting from the days of Noah. For you see, if you were to recognize the Noahic Covenant, which is also known as God's Magna Charta to the new world. Then surly, you must recognize God's Magna Charta that was in place, during the days of Adam. Keep in mind that humanity continued to survive after the Great Flood of Judgment. Remember what the Sacred Scriptures had to say when it came to the genealogy of Adam: And because of this, the seed of Adam continued on. For unto Adam and Eve: Seth was born, and unto him Enosh, and unto him Kenan, and unto him Mahalalel, and unto him Jared, and unto him Enoch, and unto him Methuselah, and unto him Lamech, and unto him Noah.
Now I want you to notice that from out of this genealogy, I would like you to zero in on one person for a moment, which is Enoch. Remember he was the one that had walked with God for three-hundred years before he was taken up to heaven. And because of this, he had the privilege of being one of two that never tasted physical death, the other was the prophet Elijah.
Now notice the way Enoch named his son Methuselah. For the name signifies: When he is dead it shall be sent. Now I find this to be very interesting, for I believe that this is a crucial point to consider. For you see the naming of Methuselah indicates that God had told Enoch about the coming judgment against humanity. Just the mere fact that after Methuselah had died, the Flood of Judgment came upon humanity. Now again, all this points towards God telling the prophet Enoch about the flood beforehand, and so therefore Enoch name his child accordingly.
I also want to point out that God also told Enoch about the second coming of Christ: "And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds, which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him." -- Jude 1:14-15
Word of God is Always True
Now I'm not one to label anything, for I feel that it limits the thing or person in which its placed on. And make no mistake the Word of God is always true and it never expires. For the foundation of His Word is God's continual promise to humanity, and being that God kept His promises during the days of the prophets of old, then the Lord certainly will keep them now. We must know that all throughout God's Word, there's an announcement to mankind on what's to come next. The Bible is the only Book that's bold enough to record those predictions, and the only Book that's able to record the fulfillment of those very same prophecies.
Quite simply, it all comes down to the Bible's track record on prophecy. For we must understand that throughout time and humanity, the Sacred Scriptures have never been wrong, when it comes to its predictions, never! Now it's this track record of fulfilled prophecies that proves the Bible is of a divine authority. It's this track record of fulfilled prophecies, that proves Jesus is the true Messiah.
You know, it amazes me that people will go around paying money and investing their time into following behind something, or someone that doesn't have any sort of track record, or a track record that doesn't come remotely close to what Bible provides. People go around following and listening to so-called Renown oracles, psychics and mediums, false leaders of world religions, or things like the Mayan Calendar, or some supercomputer that tries to predict the future. The reason why this amazes me, is the mere fact that none of them can come remotely close to the track record that the Bible provides, none of them!
Palestine & Tyre
Palestine will no longer be desolate and wasted, for it will flourish in the desert. "Not for your sake do I do this,' says the Lord God, 'Let it be known to you. Be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel! Thus says the Lord God: 'On the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will also enable you to dwell in the cities, and the ruins shall be rebuilt. The desolate land shall be tilled instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass by. So they will say, 'This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden; and the wasted, desolate, and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.'" -- Ezekiel 36:33-35
Now have you seen Palestine lately? I'll tell you this, it's definitely flourishing, just like the prophet Ezekiel had foretold, centuries before.
Now when it comes to the great city Tyre being destroyed: "Therefore thus says the Lord God: 'Behold, I am against you, O Tyre, and will cause many nations to come up against you, as the sea causes its waves to come up. And they shall destroy the walls of Tyre and break down her towers; I will also scrape her dust from her, and make her like the top of a rock. It shall be a place for spreading nets in the midst of the sea, for I have spoken,' says the Lord God; 'it shall become plunder for the nations.'" -- Ezekiel 26:3-5
Now this prophecy would be fulfilled hundred of years later, through the likes of great conquerors, such as, Nebuchadnezzar and Alexander the Great.
The Prediction of Four Great World Empires
The Sacred Scriptures have also predicted the succession of the next four great world empires that would lead right up to the birth of Christ: "You, O king, are a king of kings. For the God of heaven has given you a kingdom, power, strength, and glory; and wherever the children of men dwell, or the beasts of the field and the birds of the heaven, He has given them into your hand, and has made you ruler over them all, you are this head of gold.
"But after you shall arise another kingdom inferior to yours; then another, a third kingdom of bronze, which shall rule over all the earth. And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and like iron that crushes, that kingdom will break in pieces and crush all the others. Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter's clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile." -- Daniel 2:37-42
Notice how the prophet Daniel predicted the rise of Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylon Empire which was (the head of gold.) And they fell in 539 B.C. to Cyrus the Great and the Medo-Persia Empire, which were the chest and arms of sliver from within the prophecy. And they fell in 334-330 B.C. to Alexander the Great who ruled Greece and Macedonia, which were the belly and thighs of bronze. And they finally fell in 63 B.C. to the Roman Empire, which were the legs of iron and feet of iron and clay.
Now I don't know why people continue to ignore and rebel against the Almighty. But I tell you this, it's very dangerous to go against God. All I can say, what a treasure the Word of God truly is, and I hope and pray that many will be able to benefit from its immense value before it's too late.
