Praise & Worship Exclusive - Breath of Heaven - Vocals By - Connie Lanyon-Roberts
For me, "Breath of Heaven" is a special Christmas song, not only because of its beautiful melody but because it represents the very First Christmas. It is a story about a young Jewish girl who has been chosen by Almighty God to give birth to the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ, Immanuel.
This song gives us a glimpse into Mary's thoughts, her insecurities and her feeling of unworthiness to carry the beloved son of the Living God within her womb. "Breath of Heaven" certainly touched my heart. I can relate to Mary's feelings because I too have felt unworthy of God's calling upon my life.
And so, I created a video, with my vocals, that hopefully conveys this story using pictures and music. I hope you enjoy my video, "Breath of Heaven."
When I first heard the song "Wonderful, Merciful, Savior," I thought it was one of the most compelling and beautiful Christian songs I had ever heard in the Christian music realm. It touched my heart so powerfully, bringing images to my mind of Jesus as a compassionate and loving savior.
He came to earth as a man because He loves us. He suffered at the hands of Roman soldiers and died on a cross because He loves us. And He will be coming for His bride, the believers, because He loves us with an unconditional love. I am so excited to know that one day I will see my King, my Redeemer, my wonderful, merciful Savior face to face when He calls me home to be with Him for all eternity.
Amazing Grace is a hymn that applies to all of us. We have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God. We have all been lost but with Jesus we are found. We have all been blind but with Jesus we now see.
This is what the Word tells us of God's amazing grace
"But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ.
And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.
For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past; for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time.
God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus."
(Romans 3:21-26 NLT)
God's grace is His free and unmerited favor toward us. All I can say is thank you, Lord!

"If any one would tell you the shortest, surest way to all happiness and all perfection, he must tell you to make it a rule to yourself to thank and praise God for everything that happens to you.
For it is certain that whatever seeming calamity happens to you, if you thank and praise God for it, you turn it into a blessing. Could you, therefore, work miracles, you could not do more for yourself than by this thankful spirit; for it heals with a word, and turns all that it touches into happiness."
