Short Inspired Devotions from the Bible

"The love of Christ, is like the blue sky; for it's a sky, into which you may see clearly, but the real vastness of which you cannot measure."

Robert M. McCheyne

The Door

Revelations 3:20-21 states: "Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne."

I want you to know, that as I sat back to write this devotion, I was reminded of how my mother loved to fish. For you see, there wasn't a place that she wouldn't go, when it came to fishing. For it simply didn't matter when it came to the location, were it be a pond, lake, or river.

For it didn't matter, if the place was on a hill, or surrounded by high grass, or in the mud; when it came to my mother, she just didn't care.

All that matter to Her, is that she would be able to do something that she truly enjoyed, which was fishing.

Nonetheless, I wonder, could it be possible, that this is how our picture of Jesus would be?

You know, with Him knocking on the doors of people hearts and minds, regardless of the person?

Not being deterred by the hills and valleys in which that person may have traveled; not worried about the muddy filthy sins, that they seem to always be found walking and sloshing through.

For you see Christ, simply doing what He enjoyed doing; which is giving every person, who's willing to listen, a chance at eternal life.

And these are the types of traits, that causes a person to have a high appreciation, when it comes to Christ. For we've been reassured, that He wouldn't stop at nothing, when it comes reaching the lost; when it comes to knocking on the doors, of the hearts and minds, that are willing to be reached; that are willing to be saved.

May I suggest, that starting today, you make sure you answer the door, when Christ comes a knocking; by letting Him into your life. And when you do, again, make sure you tell Him about all of your troubles. And while you're telling Him about your problems, be certain, that He will be forever faithful, when it comes to resolving those concerns for you, one by one -- Amen.

I hope and pray, that Danna's short devotion, was in some way, a blessing to you
