Short Inspired Devotions from the Bible
"There's no condemnation that I now dread. For I know that through Jesus, all those who are found from within Him, have obtained a new life. I rejoice, for I'm alive in Him, my living Savior; and clothed in His divine righteousness. And it's for this reason, that I can boldly approach the Eternal Throne, and claim the Eternal Crown, through Christ my own."
Knowing vs. Doing
Matthew 4:1-10 states: "Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, 'If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.' But He answered and said, 'It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.' Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, 'If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down.
"For it is written: 'He shall give His angels charge over you, and, in their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.'
"Jesus said to him, 'It is written again, "You shall not tempt the Lord your God."
"Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
"And he said to Him, 'All these things I will give you if you will fall down and worship me.' Then Jesus said to him, 'Away with you, Satan! For it is written, "You shall worship the Lord your God; and Him only you shall serve."'"
Guarding Against Satan's Fiery Darts
Understand that when it comes to those of us, who have chosen to believe in Christ, keep in mind, that it's after we have made the decision to be saved, when we should expect Satan to intensify his attack against us. And this is why we shouldn't be surprised, if we constantly see Satan's fiery darts of persecution and affliction whizzing above our heads. For you see, we should now, more than ever, expect this type of attack to be intensified from within our day-today lives. Did you really think, that Satan was just going to leave you alone, now that you're a child of God? Hardly. And actually, it's because you're a child of God, that Satan will come at you even harder. Satan would love to see you shun God once again, and return back to your worldly ways.
For you see, it's when you live for the righteousness of God; it's when you have made the choice to follow the teachings of Christ; it's when you're feeling hard pressed and knocked down at times (okay most of the time) that Satan knows that you are, at your weakest. This is why I believe, that it's crucial that when we find ourselves having to endure such a season of emotional hardship, that we put forth an extra effort, when it comes to standing strong in our faith.
For I want you to know, with God on our side, it doesn't matter how many fiery darts persecution and affliction that Satan hurls or way. Always remember, that through Christ, when it's all said and done, we will reign victorious. So my beloved, go ahead and make a stand for who you are in Christ. And know that by doing so, you will not be standing alone. For you're now a child of God; an heir to the Eternal Kingdom; and because of this, death no longer has any power over you. And as long as you don't give up on who you are in Christ, this is something, that Satan will never be able to take away from you -- Amen.
