The Holy Spirit: A Foretaste of What's To Come
2 Corinthians 5:5 states: "Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God. For it's He, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee."
Galatians 5:5 states: "For we, through the Spirit, eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith."
I wonder? Have you ever seen those people in the grocery stores, that
give out samples to the shoppers that are constantly passing by? And
obviously, they're doing this for the passing shopper benefit; being
that they're providing the shopper with an opportunity to know what a
certain (often times new) product tastes like.
Providing such an opportunity, not only allows the shopper to see if they would like a particular product.
But it's also an effective way of introducing a shopper to a product, that they would have probably been overlooking, if the in-store sampler hadn't brought the product to the shopper's attention through a taste tasting session.
And then again, another example would be, that someone had just finished cooking something at home, and you were the one they'd chosen to sample it; being that you're the one that they trust, to tell them if the food they prepared tastes alright.
This is what was brought to mind, when it comes to the two scriptures in the above reference. For I believe, that by God giving us the Holy Spirit, our Heavenly Father is confirming to us, that through Jesus Christ, our name has been assigned to the eternal kingdom's dinner place card.
For you see, that by giving us the Holy Spirit, our Heavenly Father is revealing to us, that dinner is not quite ready yet, and the Holy Spirit is just a foretaste of what's to come. By giving us the Holy Spirit, the God that we have chosen to serve, is giving us some deep inner insight, when it comes to what He has in store for us. For we must always remember, that anything that God decides to put upon us, will be just a taste, of the the many good things, that God will eventually do for us. For there's nothing that God can't do; and be certain that whatever He decides to do, will always be done for our best interest -- Amen.
I hope and pray, that Danna's short devotion, was in some way, a blessing to you
