The Prayer of the Tempted

Romans 7:14-18 states: "For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin. For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. If then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good. But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find."

Oh how wonderful it is to be obedient to Your Word, my Lord!

For I want You to know, that it's my heart's true desire.

Heavenly Father, know that my soul is crying out to You; for it wants to be severed from my flesh; it wants to avoid the eternal destruction that awaits it, if it's not quickly set apart.

Oh how weak my flesh is; for it's constantly being tempted from every which way. I'm afraid my Everlasting King, that the struggle for my soul, has all but consumed me.

Please my Eternal Father, help me! For I know that nothing is impossible for You; I know that Your willing, and more than able, when it comes to helping me. Oh how thankful I am, that Your Beloved Son did not let the cup pass Him by. I'm so grateful that He knew, that it wasn't by His will, but by Your will that things had to be done: "Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done." -- Luke 22:42

Through all my trials and tribulations; sleepless nights, and drawn out days. My Precious Lord, in Whom I fully trust; I turn them all over to You. And by doing so, I'm declaring: "Father not by my will..." -- Amen.
