A Profound Statement
John 1:40-41 states: "One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him [Jesus Christ], was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, 'We have found the Messiah (which is translated, the Christ).'" (NKJV)
Know that when Andrew had made this statement to Peter, he was saying that all the prophecies that the Lord's prophets had foretold, when it came to the Man who would be known as the King of the Jews, the Savior of humanity, the true Messiah, the Eternal King had finally come to pass.
Jeremiah prophesied: "Behold, the days are coming,' says the Lord, 'That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called: The Lord Our Righteousness.'" -- Jeremiah 23:5,6
Isaiah prophesied:
"Indeed I have given him as a witness to the people, a
leader and commander for the people.
Surely you shall call a nation you
do not know, and nations who do not know you shall run to you.
Because
of the Lord your God, and the Holy One of Israel; For He has glorified
you." -- Isaiah 55:4,5
Ethan the Ezrahite
prophesied: "Also I will make Him My firstborn, the highest of the kings
of the earth. My mercy I will keep for Him forever, and My covenant
shall stand firm with Him." -- Psalms 89:27-28
You know I must say, what a profound statement Andrew had made, for this
wasn't a simple statement like: "I found a boat lets see if it works."
No this statement changed the lives of many people from Matthew to
Matthias and to the countless others in-between and even to this day,
that statement continues to change lives.
Understand that when we
make statements about our faith, or when we are witnessing or just
sharing, it's important that the statements we are making about Jesus
Christ are biblical, searchable and clear, especially when we are
sharing with non-believers. Let's make sure our statements are not our
opinion, rather documented facts that we can point to in the Word of
God.
SHORT DEVOTIONS
Making A Clear Statement
You know I must say, what a profound statement Andrew had made, for this wasn't a simple statement like" "I found a boat lets see if it works". No this statement changed the lives of many people from Matthew to Matthias and to the countless others in-between and even to this day, that statement continues to change lives.
Understand that when we make statements about our faith, or when we are witnessing or just sharing, it's important that the statements we are making about Jesus Christ are biblical, searchable and clear, especially when we are sharing with non-believers. Let's make sure our statements are not our opinion, rather documented facts that we can point to in the Word of God.
But whatever you do, don't stop sharing your testimonies. Understand that what you have already walked through was meant to be shared and some of your testimony will be affixed to the hearts of those that need repairing, and some of your testimony will also be used by others for rejoicing and encouragement. Just remember we want to have a profound effect on others and we want that effect grounded in the Word of God and we want it to be everlasting -- Amen.
I hope and pray, that Danna's short devotion, was in some way, a blessing to you
